There are alot of differences between the movie of Lamb to the slaughter and the real story of Lamb to the slaughter.

1) Mrs Maloney was not sewing when her husband was coming home.

2) In the story, Roahl Dahl did not specify what Mr Maloney told Mrs Maloney but yet in the movie Mr Maloney said that he had an affair with another woman.

3) In the movie, Mr Maloney actually told Mrs Maloney to try to stop him from leaving the house when Mrs Maloney beg him not to leave her.

4) Mrs Maloney ate some grapes in the movie but not in the story.

5) Mrs Maloney rehearsed in the story but not in the movie.

6) Mrs Maloney push over tables and chairs and dropped her groceries and did not scream in the movie but in the story, Mrs Maloney did not push over tables and chairs and did not dropped her groceries but screamed in the story.

7) The policemen came and said that it seemed more like a fight took place in the movie but in the story the policeman did not say anything.

So, readers, I think that writing a story and filming a movie have different purposes so filming may change the story line of the story.
